Chatgpt To Use or Not to Use AI? Here’s What I Learned From Asking CHATGP TO WORK AS A MIRROR & Audit My Journey

ChatGPT helped me rediscover my voice, refine my focus, and uncover insights—plus blind spots I didn’t know existed.

Introduction: Do you remember the promises, affirmations, coaching goals, or personal messages you gave yourself two years ago (post pandemic)? Have you stayed on track? Hit the goals? Ever paused long enough to look back? Recently, I did just that—and it was one of the most powerful self-awareness exercises I’ve ever done.

I used ChatGPT’s deep research tool to dive into two years of my LinkedIn history—everything I’ve posted, liked, or interacted with over the last 2 years. And the findings were nothing short of eye-opening. I saw patterns I didn’t know I’d established, wisdom I’d forgotten I’d shared and blind spots I hadn’t realised existed. In short, Yes—I surprised myself.

Why I Did It: As leaders, coaches, mentors and creators, we encourage reflection in others. But how often do we reflect on our own journey with the same curiosity and depth?

I didn’t want a vanity scroll—I wanted an audit. A reflective scan. So I asked ChatGPT to take a deep look into my LinkedIn content from the last two years and highlight key themes, gaps, growth points, and product potential.

The process took a few hours, but the insight I gained was worth months of planning.

What I Discovered

✅ My Core Themes Are Solid and ImpactfulI consistently speak to fatherhood, teen coaching, emotional literacy, second chances, and coaching tools. These aren’t just topics—they’re pillars of my identity and mission.

✅ My Voice Has Built Trust Over TimeThe tone is consistent, authentic, and rooted in service. I’ve been building a foundation of credibility and relatability post by post.

✅ There’s Untapped Product & Programme PotentialSo many past reflections are perfect springboards for new coaching materials—toolkits, journals, trainings, even self-paced courses.

✅ I Had Blind SpotsSome stories were left hanging. Some ideas needed refining. But rather than feel disappointed, I felt energized. It gave me clarity on what to revisit and evolve.

The Big Insight: AI Can Be a Mirror, Not Just a Tool This exercise reminded me that AI isn’t just about automating or creating content—it can amplify self-awareness. By reflecting back my own voice, AI helped me listen better. To myself. To my message. To what I’ve already built.

From Insight to Action: What I'm Doing Now

  • Improving my leadership capabilities so I am a better leader for those I am previledged to lead

  • Crafting a purposeful weekly content plan anchored in my core values

  • Building a repurposing strategy that multiplies the impact of each idea

  • Creating a coaching journey map to help myself and my clients to understand our growth path

  • Designing new digital coaching tools from legacy content

Your Turn: Try This Reflection Challenge

If you've been showing up online writing, coaching, posting etc take this as your sign:

  1. Ask AI to review your past posts and reflect your patterns back to you.

  2. Highlight your consistent themes those are your signature messages.

  3. Identify posts with potential: which ones can evolve into something bigger?

  4. Audit your tone how do you show up when you're at your best?

  5. Let the past you guide the future you.

Here’s the actual prompt I used to begin this deep dive: please steal with pride and feel free to change edit as you see fit: "Here is my LinkedIn profile.[ ...insert your linkedin profile link ...] Please look at all my posts, interactions including comments and likes etc. on LinkedIn over the last 2 years specifically looking for feedback on:

  • The style and tone of my posts?

  • The engagement (likes, comments, reach) and how to improve it?

  • The content strategy, themes, consistency, relevance to my areas of interest, industry/goals?

  • Please do not focus on text posts only but include articles, shares, images and video content too."

Final Thought

Sometimes we look too far ahead, thinking growth only comes from the next thing. But the clarity we seek is often already within the work we’ve done.

If you want help reviewing, repurposing, or refining your content into something transformative, I’d love to help you find the gold in your own story.
